Rev. Dr. David Blankenberg

Beloved, I am a dedicated Pastor with various gifts and experiences. I began my professional career as an entrepreneur and businessperson. I worked within the family landscaping business in Union County, NC for over 20 years. I completed my undergraduate studies at UNC-Charlotte with a BA in Religious Studies with honors. Then, I attended Duke University’s Divinity School for my Master of Divinity and returned a few years later for a Doctor of Ministry. I am a Thriving Rural Fellow through the Duke Endowment and serve the Western NC Conference of the UMC in several capacities.

I am committed to shepherding people to Christ, engaging the congregation in community outreach, and building God’s kingdom one relationship at a time. Three main theological themes guide my ministry: grace (our need for it), incarnational ministry (being with people), and practical divinity through works of mercy (missional outreach by recognizing the image of God in everyone).

I am married to Jill Blankenberg, and we have two boys, Dylan and Samuel. In my spare time, I enjoy golf, hiking, and photography.
